How to Know When You Need Commercial Electrical Repair

Essentially, inspections and maintenance are conducted to prevent problems, or at the very least to catch them before they become too big to handle. However, if you are experiencing strange occurrences or you simply suspect something has gone wrong, it is better to schedule an appointment for possible electrical repair rather than wait until your next scheduled inspection or maintenance appointment.

Here are a few signs that indicate your system might need commercial electrical repair:

  • Inconsistent power. Surges of high voltage or flickering lights are both signs that your electrical system is in need of commercial electrical repair.
  • Dead outlets and switches. If you have outlets that don’t seem to work when you plug something into them or switches that just will not turn on no matter what, then you almost definitely have a problem. Aside from a tripped breaker, this is usually caused by damage or loose wiring.
  • Shocks. Your outlets should not be shocking anyone. Shocks are dangerous to the customers and employees within the building and indicate something has gone wrong with the wiring in the walls.
  • A burning smell. Burning smells can come from a wide variety of things, but they are always worth investigating. If you notice it is coming from the walls or that it dissipates once you turn off lights or unplug your devices, this is a sure sign to seek commercial electrical repair.

In the spirit of safety, it is always best to call in an inspection to see if electrical repair is needed the second you think something is wrong, even if it isn’t on this list.
