How Long Does Rewiring Take?

Rewiring, depending on a number of factors, can be quite complex, which could also mean it might take a lot of time from beginning to end. Here are some of the factors that will add or subtract time from your rewiring job:

How Long Does Rewiring Take?

  • Size of the job site. If we are tasked with rewiring a small bungalow, this will likely not take long at all. However, if you are hiring us to rewire a sprawling home with an extra floor (or two) or an average commercial space, these locations will have more wire to replace, which will make it take longer.
  • How accessible the wiring is. Some wiring is incredibly easy to get to—but other times, it is hidden in places on your property that are out of the way, hard to access, or difficult to fit an electrician or the requisite equipment into. The easier your electrical wiring is to access, the faster we will be able to finish the job.
  • The wiring’s complexity. Depending on how specialized your electrical system is—whether you have smart home integration, multiple power points, or maybe you or a previous owner have customized your electrical system in some way or another—your rewiring job may take longer. The simpler an electrical system is, the quicker we can understand it and start replacing what we need to.

Rewiring can be as fast as a few days or take up to a week. The fact is that each property is unique, and there are likely to be at least a couple electrical quirks in your system that factor into the timeline. The good news is that we strive to keep you updated every step of the way, so you always know where we are in the process.
